Airport Destinations Details

Aero Estates   |   Berryville, TX   Visited: 10/17/21

  • Airport:   This is a private airpark within well maintained homes lining the single Runway 09/27. We had received an invitation from a resident at the airpark. If you intend on landing here, it is proper that you also have a personal invitation to do so by one of the airpark residents. There was an unmarked area at the approach end RWY 09 that was suggested to us for parking.

  • BBQ stand with some outdoor picnic table seating to boot. The BBQ chopped beef sandwiches were really good. But do not miss out on their prized jewel of sides. We ordered the smoked potato salad. Never had before....and cannot ever forget. It was truly awesome. Cotton's Corner is located off the approach end of RWY 27 to the north - a 1/5 mile, a pleasant 10 minute walk. < 1 mile
  • Historic:    Lake Palestine nearby - as in walking distance.
  • Comments: We met some residents on our walk to Cotton's Corner for lunch - they were delightful and we enjoyed our conversation with them. Also on our walk, we saw a beautiful, show quality WACO YMF-F5C outside one of the resident's hangar. Other fun aircraft were present as well.

Gillespie County   |  Fredericksburg, TX    Visited: 12/26/2021

  • Airport:   Nice facility and friendly staff. Wi-Fi and restrooms available.
  • Courtesy Car:   No. Courtesy Care/Transport: Several rental cars available onsite, but the crew car is currently not available. While Uber is available, lots of people on ‘wine tours’ eat up available drivers. The numbers for dependable local taxis are listed on the FBO bulletin board.
  • Restaurant(s):    The few times I have been to this airport, I have eaten at the Airport Diner, right there on the field. Well appointed, good food, good service and good atmosphere. But,downtown Fredericksburg has large variety of dining options as well. German cuisine is celebrated at local restaurants. > 1 mile
